Community Supervisor Inquiry Form
Peace4Kids, Inc. is a non-profit international exchange program. We work with overseas partners to bring high school students to the U.S. for one semester or a full school year. The program needs Community Supervisors to help us locate schools and volunteer host families to host students. Our mission is to provide all participants —students, host families and high schools — with a quality inter-cultural experience that will enhance their growth, encourage lifetime friendships and expand their understanding of the world.
The Peace4Kids Community Supervisor (CS) is an independent contractor who supports the mission of Peace4Kids by supervising the international student program in his or her local community. This includes U. S. State Department and the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) required monthly contact with host families and exchange students.
Overview of CS Responsibilities
- Build relationship with the local high school in your district
- Obtain/facilitate school acceptance for international students
- Recruit, screen, and secure suitable host families
- Match students to appropriate host families
- Provide a Pre-Arrival Orientation for host families
- Provide a Post-Arrival Orientation for students and host families
- Meet with student and families in person each month and submit a monthly progress report
- Act as mediator and provide reasonable conflict prevention, counseling, and resolution support
